The job itself

The governors seek well-qualified, enthusiastic and committed Teachers of Maths to join our highly successful Maths Team from September 2023 as part of fixed term contracts for one year with the possibility of an extension.

You will be passionate about your subject area and will stretch and challenge pupils of all abilities in all Key Stages whilst ensuring the importance of an inclusive education for all.

The Maths Team are central to the success and future life chances of students.

The team has established a vibrant and supportive culture to enable all students to succeed in moving onwards and upwards to their next steps.The school is located within an easy commutable distance from Hull, York and Scarborough.

You will:

• plan and deliver high quality teaching and learning in your specialist area or other area of expertise
• take responsibility for the welfare, academic and personal development of students in a class/tutor group
• take responsibility for general health and safety across the working environment
• be a visible presence around the school site to perform duties as directed to facilitate a safe working environment for young people
• be a role model for positive discipline and apply the principles consistently
• fulfil requirements for marking, assessment and reporting to parents in line with school policies
• attend, actively engage and contribute to, where appropriate, staff training events
• be a dedicated Form Tutor
