Role: Senior Planner/Scheduler

Contracting Authority: Government

Contract Length: 11 Months

Location: Hybrid - Bristol

IR35: Inside

Pay Rate: £550 per day

Security Clearance: SC Clearance


An exciting opportunity has become available with our prestigious client who is a prominent government department. The client is seeking an experienced Senior Planner/Scheduler to join their welcoming team.

The Senior Planner/Scheduler Role:

  • To develop relevant project plans capturing the key activities and deliverables necessary to complete the project
  • To oversee all aspects and management of the project plan and create integrated plans
  • To develop various schedules at different hierarchal levels by consolidating schedules and developing Integrated Master Schedules, and identify and report the Critical Path
  • To assist in the capture of baseline schedules and support to recalculate the remaining work
  • Monitor actual progress: once there is a baseline, ensure that any movement to this is subject to formal change control and, once changes are approved, that the project manager updates and incorporates the change and reports progress based on this
  • Monitors resource levels against achievement to advise on resource levelling and identify potential over or underestimating for work effort within the plan
  • Attend management, project team and customer meetings as requested by the project manager to ensure that schedules are being maintained and updated as required, according to standards
  • Support the Project Baseline Change and Front Door Process, developing options and briefing the Project and Program Managers on implications of change to all schedules
  • Line Management activity for C2 Scheduler post
  • Any other task, as is commensurate with grade, as requested by LM or CSO

The Senior Planner/Scheduler Will Need:

  • MS Projects at Practitioner level
  • Extensive Stakeholder Management, needs to be able to challenge
  • Strong self-starter
  • Resilient and professional approach to all duties
  • Experience of setting up a schedule is a desirable skillset
