About the service userC is a 19 year old young man with a learning disability, he is very sociable and funny. C lives at home in Sawston with his mum, dad, grandma and the family dog.C has created a magical world to live in around movies and Dr Who, he loves all kinds of films and watching YouTube but equally enjoys being outside, his family and dog are very important to him.

Hours and rate of Pay

5 hrs per week Monday 4.30-6.30pmWednesday – 4.30-5.30pmFriday – 4.30-6.30pmPaid at £10 per hour .DBS clearance is required.

What you would be doing

Support C with personal care – to have a bath, shave, dry himself, brush his teeth and dressed into lounge wear, all the while encouraging him to do things for himself to develop independence skills.

The person I would like

You will have experience of supporting others with learning disabilities and an awareness of the challenging behaviour a learning disability can bring. You will learn triggers for certain behaviour and learn to manage these. It is very important that you are friendly and cheerful, you will also need to be flexible and punctual. Someone who is happy and willing to be interactive, you will be encouraging in order to improve and develop skills.
