The Ebrington Hotel is now seeking to recruit a Kitchen Porter for their premises, Ebrington Square, Derry-Londonderry:

Kitchen Porter – Job Details

Contract: Full Time Permanent

Start date: TBC

Salary: Competitive

Hours of work: 40 hours per week

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensure the cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen, equipment, and utensils
• Wash and sanitize dishes, pots, pans, and other cooking utensils
• Assist in the preparation and delivery of food as needed
• Receive and store food deliveries, rotate stock, and maintain proper storage conditions
• Assist chefs and kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks, such as chopping and peeling vegetables or preparing sauces
• Ensure the kitchen and food preparation areas are clean and tidy at all times
• Follow all safety, hygiene, and sanitation protocols and procedures
• Assist with the general cleaning of the kitchen and dining areas
• Perform other duties as assigned by the management team

Essential Criteria

• Previous experience as a kitchen porter or in a similar role is preferred
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of attention to detail
• Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks
• Knowledge of basic food safety and hygiene standards
• Positive attitude, team player, and willingness to learn new skills and techniques.

Desirable Criteria

• Background in a busy hotel environment
