Level 2 Animal Care Apprenticeships x3

We are a family run business in a Boarding Kennels and Cattery establishment. We have been running the Business for 11 years. The business operates all year round. We have a high standard of cleanliness and treat every animal like our own.

We are recruiting for an apprentice kennel hand.

Duties will include but not limited to:

• Cleaning kennels and cat chalets to a high standard
• Changing cat and dog bedding
• Providing water and food to the animals in your care
• Poo picking
• Washing
• Sweeping
• Bathing and brushing dogs and cats
• Dealing with clients when required

Desired skills and qualities

• Previous experience with dogs required. Details to be shown on application
• Calm in difficult situations
• Any experience with handling difficult dogs and cats would be an advantage
• Good customer service skills and can work as a team
• Punctual
• Polite

Desired qualifications

• GCSE grade 5/C+ or above in English and maths, or equivalent desired but not required
• Applicant must not already hold a level 2 or higher in animal care as this will affect eligibility for this course.

Future prospects

• Progression into full time employment if opportunity should arise.

Training

• Full training to be provided by the employer and KEITS at the place of employment.
• The applicant will be working towards and gain a Level 2 Animal Care & Welfare Apprenticeship Standard.
• The learner will be allocated an industry specific training consultant who will provide both remote and on site visits throughout the apprenticeship.
• The apprentice will work towards an End Point Assessment (EPA) at the end of their apprenticeship
