Position: Mechanical Design Engineer

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000

Location: Peterborough, Cambridgeshire

Permanent - Full-Time

Monday – Friday (Office Based)

Interaction Recruitment have teamed up with a manufacturing leader in commercial vehicles. Due to an influx of work my client is looking to expand the engineering team! This is an ideal role for someone looking to progress their career with a globally recognised company.

The Role:

• Use Cad software (2D, 3D, Autocad, Solidworks) to design and develop orders within specific timescales and budgets
• Work from concepts through to design, development to manufacture products
• Responsible for Research and Development (R&D)
• Create technical assembly drawing
• Work closely with customers and major suppliers
• Responsible for the creation and issuing of BOM (Bill of Material)

The Candidate:

• Must hold degree level qualification in core engineering
• Must be responsible
• 2D/3D experience (CAD) and CAD data management (PDM)
• Must have knowledge of lean principles
• Commercial vehicle knowledge (desirable)
• Comfortable with Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
• Must be proficient using Solidworks
